Gods Own Junkyard, London, England

Hello everyone!

I hope you’re doing well. Today I want to show you a very interesting place I visited few weeks ago. I’ve been to London many times and honestly, I didn’t want to watch typical must-see places again. You know… old bones, vases and guys on horses are ok, but not when you have to watch them million times. I was looking for something different, interesting and made by people with passion. That’s how I’ve found Gods Own Junkyard (Google babes). I would describe it in few words as a vintage-neon-psychedelic paradise in North East London.

Gods Own Junkyard was made by Chris Bracey, also known as the Neon Man or the Master of Glow. He worked in “neon” industry for almost 37 years. First, making neon signs for strip clubs and brothels in Soho, after that his talent was noticed by some important people (Stanley Kubrick, Tim Burton, Christopher Nolan). I leave you a link to an article about him, if you’re interested.

GOJ is a magical place with a huge WOW factor. My first though was… holy sh… What’s interesting, you can find there not only neon signs strictly associated with night clubs but also a lot of religious figures. This contrast is unique, but interesting at some point.

If you are in London and want to see something different I can highly recommend GOJ but before your visit please check opening hours because GOJ is not daily open.

Enjoy and see you soon.
